Grandma’s Molasses Cookies

It is a large batch-I think 4 times the recipe, so you can cut in half or a fourth if you want.  However, these stay amazing for many days and they freeze very well.  Who wouldn’t want some to share or save for later, too!  Just get a big bowl!



3 cups butter

4 cups sugar

1 cup Molasses

4 eggs



In separate bowl, mix dry ingredients:

2 Tbs + 2 Tsp baking soda

8-8 1/2 cups flour

2 tsp. Cloves

2 tsp. Ginger

4 tsp cinnamon

2 tsp salt


Mix dry and wet ingredients together. 


form into 1” balls and roll in sugar.  Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 6-7 mins.
